Trim & Healthy

I am a Trim Healthy Mama (or well on my way to being one anyway) and it all started with one little book … Trim-Healthy-Mama Okay, at just over 600 pages, it’s not so little but it is packed with inspired information on health and wellness, weight management, hormonal balance, marital bliss, natural products, etc. Written by sisters Serene Allison and Pearl Barrett, Trim Healthy Mama details a healthy way of eating and living inspired by the word of God, thoroughly researched and lived out.

The best part, it is NOT a diet or a passing fad!

Let me say that again, NOT A DIET! It truly is a lifestyle change, as cliché as that may sound.

This book really should be called Trim, Healthy, HAPPY Mama. Because when you start taking care of yourself from the inside out and begin paying attention to the needs of your body, mind and spirit; happiness, energy, peace and contentment just naturally follow.

They certainly have for me.

The bottom line is that when tackling life from a God-centered place of overall health and wellness, everything else truly starts to fall into place. No, things don’t get easier but they do get easier to manage.

And that is why I want to share. Someone shared this plan with me and it has brought wonderful change to my life and health. Now it is my turn.

I also want to share because I will be talking more and more about THM, S (satisfying), E (energizing) and FP (fuel pull) recipes and meals and don’t want to confuse anyone.

So, want to know more?

I would love nothing more to tell you all you could ever want to know about THM but I am still learning myself and Gwen at Gwen’s Nest has already done it and done it well. If you would like to learn a bit more about being a Trim Healthy Mama (or Man for that matter), pay her a visit and read the Trim Healthy Mama Book Review . She really breaks it all down and gives you the “nuts and bolts” of the plan.

Where can you find the book?

Visit the Trim Healthy Mama Website to order your own copy. I promise that even if you don’t embrace all of the THM concepts and recommendations, there will be something for you. The book is filled with sound advice for taking back control of not only your weight but your overall health and well-being.

I think it is important for you to know that I am not affiliated with THM or the authors in any way. I was simply a tired, overweight mama who could no longer afford to ignore myself or how I was feeling – I know that just struck a chord with someone out there – and was blessed to be led to THM.

Here are some of my favorite sites for THM, gluten-free/sugar-free recipes and nutritional information:

Gwen’s Nest

Healthy Indulgences  –  not THM specific but fantastic recipes that fit the plan well.

Healthy Living How To  – not THM specific but great recipes and a lot of sound nutritional advice.

And here are my own Trim Healthy Mama related posts:

Good Girl Moonshine

Please, let me know if you have any questions for me. Just don’t ask me how much weight I’ve lost because I can’t tell you. I haven’t weighed myself. I have denial issues. Anything else, ask me anything else and I’ll keep working on finding the courage to face the scale.

Happy, healthy eating to you!

I have never heard of this! How fascinating. I make lots of Asian food so I don’t have to worry about weight. But I want to eat both the pie and the cake on your header right now!!! lol!

It really easy an incredible take on healthy balanced eating and taking charge of your health and wellness from the inside out. It is freedom from the love/hate battle with food that so many fight. The cake is a recipe of my grandmothers – definitely a worthy once in a while splurge (I’m working on making it a healthier option) but the pie only tastes decadent – it is a happy, healthy dessert! So go right ahead, EAT! 😉
